This page explains what information we collect when you use this website or book a table with us, why we collect it, and what rights you have. We have tried to write it in plain English rather than legal language.

What we collect
When you book a table through this website, we ask for:
- Your name, so we know who the table is for
- Your phone number, so we can contact you if something changes on the day
- Your email address (optional), to send your booking confirmation. If you do not give one we cannot email a confirmation, and we will hold the booking against your phone number instead.
- The date, time and number of guests
- The occasion, if you tell us (birthday, anniversary and so on)
- Any notes you add, such as allergies, accessibility needs or seating preferences
- Pre-order choices, for larger groups
We do not ask for anything we do not need to look after your booking.
Why we collect it, and on what basis
- To manage your booking, we need this to provide the table you have asked for.
- To keep you safe, allergy and dietary notes are passed to our kitchen. This matters for your health, so please always tell us.
- To run the restaurant well, we look at overall numbers, such as how many covers we serve on a given evening, to plan staffing. This is done in aggregate and is not about you personally.
We do not send marketing emails, and we do not sell, rent or share your information with anyone for advertising.
Returning guests
If you have booked before, our system may recognise your phone number and fill in your name and any notes from your previous visit. This is so we can welcome you properly and remember things like an allergy. If you would rather we did not keep this, just ask and we will remove it.
Who else is involved
A small number of trusted services help this website work:
- Our web host, which runs this website and stores the booking database
- Dojo, our card payment provider, if you pay a deposit by card. Your card details go to Dojo directly and never through this website.
- Our email provider, which delivers your booking confirmation
- Google Maps, which supplies the map on our Visit section. Google may set its own cookies when that map loads.
- Google Fonts, which supplies the typefaces used on this site
Our booking system is currently hosted outside the United Kingdom. Where information is stored outside the UK, we take steps to make sure it stays properly protected.
Cookies
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not run analytics on visitors. The embedded Google map may set cookies of its own when you view it. Staff logging in to our internal booking system use a sign-in cookie, which is not set for ordinary visitors.
How long we keep it
Booking records are kept while they are useful for running the restaurant and for our business records. If you ask us to delete your details, we will do so unless we are required to keep something for accounting reasons.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- tell you what information we hold about you
- correct anything that is wrong
- delete your details
- stop using your information in a particular way
Just get in touch and we will sort it out. There is no charge, and you do not need to give a reason.
